Guangdong is perhaps China’s most contradictory province. Known for its industry and factories, which produce everything from sneakers to computers, Guangdong is also home to some of China‘s most diverse landscape. In short, there are rugged mountains and vertical cliffs in the north, and a meandering coastline and miles of sand beaches in the south. What makes Guangdong especially attractive for outdoor programs is how accessible the entire province is. The inner corridor, filled with native forest, clear rivers and lakes, and rustic villages, can all be reached in under a few hours, thanks to China‘s most advanced regional transportation network. That means that it‘s possible to climb a small mountain and kayak in the sea on the same trip- or even on the same day!

To cater to our clients in Guangdong, KA has developed programs in 8 different locations in the province. Our most popular programs in Conghua (Guangzhou), Qingyuan, and Dapeng (Shenzhen), include culture, service, and outdoor elements. Our base in Qingyuan is surrounded by karst peaks, in an area that closely resembles Guilin. For schools that are interested in bus-only programs, this is a great option, with opportunities to do rock climbing, kayaking, cycling, and hiking, as well as culture and service activities. Conghua, meanwhile, is essentially a suburb of Guangzhou, and a great option for shorter team-building programs or IA hiking programs. Finally, our location in Dapeng, is centered around the beach, with a focus on sea kayaking, beach service learning projects, and even surfing.

For schools that are looking for shorter trips (3 days / 2 nights), we have relationships with numerous outdoor bases near Guangzhou, Foshan, Zhuhai, Dongguan, and Shenzhen. They feature on-site high-ropes and water sports activities, camping and eating facilities, and open space for organizing games and team-building activities. They are self-contained, which makes it easy to manage large groups of (young) students.

For schools keen to explore off-the-beaten-path regions, we have developed two programs focused around the ethnic culture of Lianzhou and the UNESCO “danxia” sandstone formations of Shaoguan.
