Most of the programs that we operate fall under this umbrella, and are variously known as China Week Trips, Week Without Walls (WWW) trips, Residential trips, Fall/Spring Camps, Experience Week, and have become an indispensable part of the school year.

The theme of all of our trips is experiential education. Why? It is a common gripe that young people today lack a sense of community and strong values, and may suffer from deficiencies both in personal autonomy and in teamwork skills. The institutional educational curriculum places a one-sided emphasis on the development of knowledge, but is unable to provide students with a full chance to grow into mature, well-rounded adults. When it comes to participating in social activities in particular, many students experience difficulty. In addition to lacking self-confidence, a sense of curiosity, and a desire for adventure, many suffer from deficits of creativity and discipline. Not to mention the physical health issues caused by sedentary lifestyles and excessive time spent indoors. 

Outdoor education primarily enables students to interface with a new environment, collect new experiences, and learn concrete skills. In addition, it has been proven to strengthen bonds among team members, enhance problem-solving and leadership skills, and deepen one‘s spiritual appreciation for life. From a practical standpoint, outdoor education equips students with the knowledge of minimizing risks and dealing with dangerous situations, including specialized skills that can be used in the event of an emergency. 

Of course, we understand that every client (school) has a different approach to these trips, with different goals for students, and we are able to tailor both the overall structure and specific content of each trip to serve these needs. We are able to include a broad array of outdoor activities, cultural experiences, wilderness survival activities, service learning projects, extended expeditions, and more. In short, we work hard for all of our clients to design programs that are safe and interesting.
